Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.
It would be very hard to say its worth what they're asking. A quick search shows quite a contrary indication. I haven't done any search to find finer insulated silver wire. But I still have suspicions about the expense.
It would appear 22 gauge is about 25 a foot so yes that is a flat ripoff. Even if you double the price to allow for Teflon insulation it's a 600% markup.
